When I needed nurturing,
Mother, you were there,
And if I needed punishing,
You were always fair.

When I lacked direction,
Mom, you lent a guiding hand.
If I had a problem,
You would always understand.

When I needed encouragement,
Mom, you knew just what to say.
When I needed structure,
You provided it each day.

When I think back to my childhood,
To the memories that I once knew.
I was extremely fortunate,
To have a Mom like you.
