In the house that Ruth built,
Constructed by his fame,
Lurk the ghosts and memories
From many heros of the game.
Baseballs greatest champions,
Gave birth to Murderers Row.
Gehrig, Ruth and Meusel
Gave way to Dimaggio.

Then came a kid from Oklahoma,
Mantle was his name.
Home runs were the Mick's forte,
Roger Maris was the same.
Scooter, Dickey, and Ali Reynolds,
McCarthy, Huggins, Houk and Case.
Gomez, Larsen, and Whitey Ford,
Yogi and Elston at home base.

Richardson, Kubek, Clete and Tresh,
Pepitone, Michaels, and the Moose.
Sparky, Mel and Righetti,
Chambliss, Catfish and the Goose.
Willie, Pags, White and Winfield,
Munson behind the plate.
Bucky, Rivers, Nettles and Reggie,
Octobers have been great.

Fear struck forth from many a hitter.
What could possibly be more frightening
Than having to stand, with bat in hand,
Against Louisiana Lightening?
Gone and back, gone and back Billy.
Sweet Lou, another famous curser.
Oh,the beauty which was in the swings
Of Mattingly and Murcer.

Distinguished careers along the way,
We won't forget the impacts made,
By Cone, Baylor, Kaat, Raines,
Pettit, Wells and Wade.
Ruben, Gooden, Luis Tiant,
The Rocket, and Darrel Strawberry,
The Niekro brothers, Rickey Henderson,
Tommy John and Jimmy Key

We will remember the sad goodbyes
To Tino, Scott and Paul.
All part of another era.
We'll sure miss you all.
New heros still remain with us,
A-Rod and Torre,
Jorge, Jason, Mussina, MO,
Derek, Godzilla and Bernie..

From the players of today,
And to all who've come and gone.
Gehrig to Derek, Bernie to Babe,
Yankee pride runs strong.
A new Century now has begun,
For the past we give our thanks.
We look forward to tomorrows' stars,
Of the New York Yanks.
