I am a sinner,
Filled with what life brings.
Yet, a man I do not know,
Took me beneath His wings.
He carried a cross up to a hill,
to set a stranger free.
Thank you Lord, Oh thank you Lord
for taking three nails for me.

I live my life a different way,
But, You lived your life for me.
Mine was filled with complication,
yours for simplicity.
I achieved levels of unworthiness,
While Yours was purity.
Thank you Lord, Oh thank you Lord
for taking three nails for me.

I have been a stranger much too long,
Much too long for me.
Yet, as I open up this heart,
you reach forgivingly.
I was that cross you carried,
And you did it willingly.
Thank you Lord, Oh thank you Lord
for taking three nails for me.
