Each year, in Olean,
the Greater Olean Association of Churches
organizes the "walk of the cross".
The object is to remind us of the sacrifice
our Lord went through for us. This walk begins at one
of the participating churches with a short service.
After that service, a huge wooden cross is picked up
and carried through the main streets of Olean
to the next participating church.
This continues for five stops and takes about two hours.
Each participating church has a short service and the cross
is passed on to another group of people. The interfaith fellowship
is wonderful and we look forward to it each Easter season.
